A section for Support has been added to the ConnectCarolina Web site. This will be used to communicate system status (outages, upgrades, etc.) as well as provide the latest updates on the Support team’s activities.
Just a reminder that your first stop for help or support with ConnectCarolina is the Help Desk (ITRC) which can be reached by calling 962-HELP or logging a Remedy Ticket through online help support (http://help.unc.edu/index.htm).

After two successful and on-time launches, the project team is still moving full-steam ahead on the Student Records, Financial Aid and Student Financials components of the project. For example:
Financial Aid
- Cycle II of the scenario testing is concluding.
- Roles are being created and tested for use in the next cycle of scenario testing. Users will be able to test seeing this as they will when the system is live. Feedback will allow tweaking of roles prior to Go-Live.
- Outstanding development items and configuration will remain a major focus. Configuration for communications and aid year are among the open items the functional team is driving to closure.
- Integration testing planning will continue the next two weeks with the goal of finalizing the approach by the end of August. Actual testing begins on October 5.
Student Records
- Conversions testing over the next week will be the biggest challenge. Course Catalogue and Schedule of Classes data has to be created and loaded to match up against already create Enrollment data. This testing is vital to the October Student Records release.
- Integration testing continues to go well for the Fall release. The testing for the September components is in the final stages. Testing for the October release will start shortly.
- For the February 2010 release of Student Records, the roles for use in Scenario testing are to be created and tested in the next week. These will also tested in the 3rd cycle of SR Scenario testing and allow for refining them prior to go-live in February.
Academic Advisement (part of Student Records)
- Additional work is taking place on the configuration, interfaces, conversions and modifications required to implement the PeopleSoft system based on university requirements. This activity will be happening all Fall.
Student Financials
- We will begin testing tuition calculation and working through the final touches on the design for the student bill.
